Webinar "Recognising digital addiction in young people: early signs and support"

Excessive digital use can negatively affect young people’s well-being, including their sleep, concentration, mental and physical health, and relationships. In the digi.well “Digital Well-being Starts with US: A Consultation Report Guiding Schools from Awareness to Action”, pupils reported feeling tired, distracted and emotionally drained after spending long periods online. They linked these experiences to specific digital habits, such as comparing themselves with idealised images online or feeling pressure to be constantly available.

The proposed webinar will explore problematic and excessive digital use through a dialogue between experts and young people, bringing together research evidence and lived experiences. The session will support young people, teachers and other education professionals, as well as parents and caregivers, in recognising early signs of problematic digital use, understanding its potential impact on learning, relationships and well-being, and translating this awareness into practical strategies for prevention and support at school and at home.
